Safety Belt Testing

Tensile testing a safety belt with the MultiTest 50 i

Safety belt tester

The Multitest 50-i with heavy duty belt grips to evaluate the tensile strength of safety belts. The load was applied at a uniform speed of 50 mm/min which allows a complete tensile profile of the material tested.

Mecmesin test systems guarantee that the test is repeatable so profiles of different samples can be used for analysis, this ensures adherence to relevant test standards or internal procedures.

Basic test principle

  1. Safety belt is loaded in the fixture and secured
  2. Guard door shut and locked into postion
  3. Test starts and the results can be viewed live as the test is performed using Emperor software
  4. At the end of the test the MultiTest 50-i returns to the start position ready for the next test
  5. Safety belt sample is removed
  6. Analysis of the test results
